After a long 46 years the time has come for Larry Wilson to say goodbye to Butler Funeral Home. Over the many years, he has met with generations of bereaved family members and helped them to arrange the final services.

On December 11, to help community members wish him a wonderful retirement, a party was held at Leftwich Hall in Bowling Park. Throughout the evening, a steady stream of friends and family stopped by to reminisce and wish Larry well.

A beautiful cake and cupcakes and punch were served to guests as they mingled. The cake topper read “The Legend Has Retired” referring back to his many years of service with humor.

One would think after 46 years he would be looking forward to a nice quiet retirement, but no he is embarking on a new career. Come January 1, 2023, Larry will start a new adventure as the newly elected Judge/Executive of Metcalfe County. We certainly wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do.
