JOHN “KELLY” MEREDITH
John “Kelly” Meredith, age 84 of Wingfield departed this life on Monday, October 31, 202, at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on December 29, 1937, to the late Rev. John Henry and Annie Meredith. He was married to JoAnn Lee Meredith, who survives.
Kelly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He owned Kelly’s Auto Sales, and was a member of the USS Prichett Reunion Association. Kelly thoroughly enjoyed watching college football, and his favorite driver, Kyle Busch, in the Nascar races.
Besides his wife, JoAnn, he leaves to honor his memory– a son, John Meredith (Lori) of Chalybeate; three daughters, Kathy Sasse (Jeff) of Bowling Green, Phyllis Forrester (Donald) of Bowling Green, and Darla Sams of Woodburn; eight grandchildren, Ashley Wilson (Josh), Katelyn Mosley (Tyler), Megan Meredith, Lauren Nickel (Dakota), Savannah Perkins (Chris), Austin, Dalton, and Jackson Sasse; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, and Corbin Wilson, and Charlotte and Caroline Mosley; four brothers, Kenneth Meredith, Bobbie Jo Meredith (Sue), Larry Meredith (Regina), and Mike Meredith (Jackie); one sister, Anna Mae Butler (Bobby); along with several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leon and Wayne Meredith.
Interment will be in Wingfield Church Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW.
