JOE MICHAEL STEPHENS
GLASGOW – Joe Michael Stephens, 71, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by family. Joe was born on July 10, 1951, to the late Marchel and Mary (Witty) Stephens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving brothers, Kenneth and Roger Stephens; and a nephew, Ronnie Stephens.
Joe was a 1970 graduate of Glasgow High School. He retired from Houchens Industries after 38 years of service. It was during those years that he met many of his lifelong friends. He was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, uncle, pa, and friend. He enjoyed spending his time on the lake, camping with his dear friends, spending summer evenings on the deck with friends and family, and winter evenings sitting in his tiki hut in Florida. He was blessed to enjoy his time with his loving wife, Bobbie, and his beloved dog Bojangles. He also enjoyed tinkering on classic cars in his garage and attending car shows. He committed himself to serving the Lord by helping others whenever he was able, and he was always someone that his friends and family could rely on. Through his example, he has taught so many what it means to work hard, to love others, and to enjoy the simple things in life.
Joe is survived by his wife of 16 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Stephens; children, Scott (Amy) Stephens and Shea Stephens; grandchildren, Jaeden and Cole Stephens, and Scout Stephens Tarquinio; brother, Jimmy (Ann) Stephens; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Donna Stephens; brother in law, Kenny (Martha) Choate; nieces, Lisa Stephens (Roger) Shirley and Baptista (Justin) Fraze; nephews, Danny (Tammy) Stephens, Dennis (Sherry) Stephens, Tony (Connie) Stephens, Brett (Whitleigh) Stephens, and Adam Stephens. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families, all of whom he adored.
