JAMES E. “JIMMY” ANDERSON

MORGANTOWN – James E. “Jimmy” Anderson, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Tompkinsville, KY on July 25, 1947, to the late Clarence and Ora B. Collins Anderson. He was a member of the VFW Post 5837.  Jimmy was a United States Marine where he served as a rifle range instructor at Camp Pendleton, he also served with the military police and was a rifle range instructor when appointed to serve in First Infantry in Vietnam. Jimmy was a lifetime carpenter and jack of all trades. He loved his kids and grandkids dearly as well as his dogs and cats. He loved to ride horses and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ruth Anderson Byrd, and Alice Lou Anderson Byrd; sons, Jimmy Dewayne Anderson, and infant son, James Edward Anderson, Jr.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 20 years, Janice K. Anderson of Morgantown; daughters, Heather Givens (C.J.) of Morgantown and Lindsey Barks (Jonathan) of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Katelyn Givens, Kaylee Givens, Mae Givens, Destin Wester, Wyatt Martin, and Lawson Barks all of Morgantown; and many nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, KY on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at 3 pm with Bro. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Burial will be held in the Hiseville Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by the AmVets Post #117.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown. Visitation will be held at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow from 12 pm until 3 pm on Sunday.
