CHESTER B. STILES

Chester B Stiles, 65 of Glasgow, died Sat Sept 24, 2022, at The Medical Center in BG after a lengthy illness. Chester grew up on the farm of Woodard and Beulah Furlong in southern Barren county after they so graciously opened their home to 6 foster boys. He helped many farmers in Barren & Allen counties in his teenage years with various farm work.

He was a graduate of Barren County High class of 1977. He was also a faithful caregiver for several years to Randal Rush, whom Chester loved. After Mr. Rush’s passing, he spent many years working for Medcare in Glasgow until his health forced him to retire. Chester was loved by all that knew him and was passionate about doing good work with a servant’s heart.

He was saved in the first revival at Combs Lane United Baptist Church and later joined Rolling Hills United Baptist Church until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Carole (Missy) Stiles of Glasgow; brothers, Ernest Turner of Killeen Texas, and David Brown (Pam) of Glasgow.

Chester was proceeded in death by his parents, Woodard & Beulah Furlong; and brothers, Leroy Stiles, JB Turner, and Bill Brown.

Also very important to Chester were his foster sisters and their husbands, Delbert and Burdene Williams, Carl and Vera Eaton, and their families. The love, enjoyment, and good examples they provided for not only Chester but all 6 boys were reflected on countless occasions.

Funeral service for Chester Stiles will be Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro Joseph Wyatt officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 3-8 and Thursday until the time for service.
