DALLAS S. DECKER, JR.

Dallas S. Decker, Jr., age 78 of Chalybeate, departed this life on August 28, 2022, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. The Edmonson County native was born on April 21, 1944, in Morris, IL to the late Dallas Seward Decker, Sr. and Jewel Thompson Decker. He was married to his best friend and soul mate, Mary L. Siderewicz Decker, who survives.

Dallas was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Pyramid Coal and Stewart and Richey. He was very talented and could draw the most beautiful, realistic portraits. Most importantly, Dallas was a devout family man, true friend, and neighbor, and was of the Christian faith.

Besides his wife, Mary, he leaves to honor his memory his sons, Mark Decker (Beth Bowie) of Hendersonville, TN, and John Decker (Tammy) of Bethpage, TN; five grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Carson, Amelia, and Wyatt Decker; along with several nephews, nieces, and cousins.  He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Steve Decker, Marlene Decker Vincent, and Ann Decker.

Interment will be at John Stevenson Family Cemetery with graveside military honors by Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW.
