MARY “LOUISE” FURLONG

GLASGOW – Mary “Louise” Furlong, 95, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the Barren County Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born April 3, 1927, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Robert “Bob” Story and Myrtle Witty Story. Louise was a homemaker and was a graduate of Hiseville High School. She was a longtime member of New Salem Methodist Church and served as Church Treasurer for over 40 years.

Survivors include her grandson, Andy Howell (Erin); granddaughter, Mary Travis Howell; three great-grandsons, Tyson, Kane, and Jaxson Howell; seven nephews, Wallace Nunnally (Dixie), Robert, Shannon, and Richard Read, Gerard, Phillip, and Mark (Karen) Johnson; three nieces, Cindy Read, Teressa Johnson, Gail Bunch (Donnie); and one sister-in-law, Bernadene Furlong Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Travis Milton Furlong; one daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” F. Gilles; one sister, Frances Read; and one niece, Leona Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Salem Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Furlong will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F.
