Organization to provide free school supplies to children

Tracy Keen felt it her ministry to love others as Jesus loves them. With that calling, she founded Love from the Hart, an organization that provides free items to others in need.
This year, Love from the Hart will once again host its annual back-to-school bash. It will be held on Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. CT at Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church.
The event is open to the public and is for anyone with school-aged children, whether they attend public school or are homeschooled.
Backpacks, notebooks, rulers, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, markers, erasers, glue sticks, pencils, pencil boxes/pouches, individual hand sanitizer, individual tissue packs, and more will be among the many items available to students for free. Absolutely no paperwork or proof of income is needed.
“We are also giving away clothing and shoes,” Keen said. “…All children should have the opportunity to have the supplies and tools they need to have a successful school year.”

Hot dogs and bottled water will also be provided free of charge.
Keen said she has met many families through the years that have expressed their gratitude for this event.
“Many have said this is a huge stress reliever for them knowing they are getting the help they need to provide for their children,” Keen explained.
But beyond the free school supplies and clothing that will be provided, Keen stated that the most important aspect of Love from the Hart and the back-to-school event is sharing Jesus Christ with others.
“Before supplies, food, or clothing is given out, we share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone that attends,” Keen said. “Physical needs are met but so are spiritual needs. So many times people will come and be so heavy-hearted and broken when they walk through the door but leave with a smile and gracious heart. I want to thank everyone that have made donations to make this event successful.”
