An Aloha Christmas comes to Glasgow

The 2022 Glasgow Christmas parade will be festive, with a friendly, tropical twist.
The theme, “An Aloha Christmas” announced last week by the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce
“Aloha, meaning love, peace, and compassion which represents the Christmas spirit, and originates from Hawaii where it’s summer year-round,” explained the organization, in a press release last week.
The parade is one of the most beloved and coveted parades in the region each Christmas season; The parade will be on Saturday, December 3.
The Chamber of Commerce, Barren Inc., and Entertain Glasgow, also announced their partnership to host the parade.
They also announced the grand marshal.
It will be a young farmer, Bodie James. James, who is just 15, is known as the “Barefoot Farmer of Finney Holler”, and is already carrying on the county’s strong and lasting agricultural heritage.
Applications for floats will be released on October 1, and due no later than November 18.
