Music will fill the air this summer at two free concerts on the square in Glasgow.

The first will be presented by the Glasgow Community Band and held Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m. Guests will be serenaded with marches, patriotic songs, and popular songs at this annual gathering. This event is sponsored by the German American Bank.

The second concert, presented by the Glasgow-Barren County Community Foundation, Inc. (Concert on the Square Committee) will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. The Louisville Orchestra will play. This has been a summer tradition since 1999.

Attendants are encouraged to bring blankets, or lawn chairs as seating will be limited. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

“We will have good vendors opening up between 5 – 5:30,” said committee chairperson, Ernie Myers.

Myers added that there would be fun in the sun for children who attend as well.

“We will have Broadway the clown, and face painting,” he said.

Myers advised that attendants arrive early, so individuals seeking a prime location need to do so in a timely fashion.

Both concerts will take place in front of Glasgow City Hall, on the east side of the square.
