WILLIAM “LAWRENCE” LESSENBERRY

RANDOLPH – William “Lawrence” Lessenberry, age 65, gained his wings Thursday, May 19, 2022, at TJ Samson Community Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lessenberry.

Born to JP and Doris Lessenberry in Glasgow, Kentucky he spent most of his life in Randolph, Kentucky. He and his wife, Debbie, made their home at the family farm in Randolph. They happily raised their three children there.

Over the years, he became of a jack-of-all-trades, working as a mechanic, electrician, and heavy equipment operator. He also worked in the dairy and hog industries as well as tobacco farming.

He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, woodworking, the outdoors, sunrise picnics, storytelling, tinkering, pulling pranks, and simply enjoying life. His greatest joys in life were his family and friends. He also had a special place in his heart for his pets.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Davidson Lessenberry of 46 years; 3 children, Billy (Teresa Byrd) Lessenberry of Edmonton, Chrissie (Billy) Bell of Arkansas, David (Diane) Lessenberry of Edmonton; 5 grandchildren, Auna Lessenberry, Austin Lessenberry, William Bell, Justin Lessenberry, and Danielle Lessenberry; father, JP Lessenberry of Bowling Green; brother, Steve (Loretta) Glass of Knob Lick; brother, Donald (Brenda) Lessenberry of Edmonton; sister Avonda Kay (James Wakelam) Vance of Florida; and mother in law, Shirley Davidson. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, numerous friends who considered him a second father, and his lapdog Chewy.

Visitation will be from 4 pm-8 pm Monday, May 23, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton. The funeral service will be at 11 am Tuesday, May 24, 2022, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph.
