The Metcalfe County Young Republicans are hosting a meet and greet for state and local Republican candidates on January 29th at 6 p.m.
This event is free to attend and will be held at the Old School Cafe on Stockton Street in Edmonton. Daniel Bragg of the MCYR says this is a twist on a county tradition.
“Years ago, a community soup supper was a tradition of the Republican Party of Metcalfe County. Unfortunately, over time that tradition was lost. As has become evident through our election debate and Reagan Day Dinners, we not only want to revitalize the Republican Party within the county, but provide platforms for citizens of Metcalfe County to interact with their current and prospective elected officials. This is another event that allows Metcalfe Countians face time with candidates, providing the constituent and the candidate opportunity to discuss their priorities and gain familiarity with one another,” Bragg said.
Bragg further stated that this is an effort to help people make informed decisions when they vote.
“We aim to provide an open forum for candidates who have filed for office in Metcalfe County,” he said.
