RUNELL BOSTON PARKE

CAMPBELLSVILLE – Runell Parke, 91, passed away on the 7th day of January 2022. She was born in Metcalfe County, started her career as a teacher in Louisville public schools, and then later retired from the Taylor County School System where she was a long-time special education teacher for elementary students. She enjoyed farming, gardening, and her many cats. She was also known for planting and caring for numerous trees on their property.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Bertha Boston; son Clifford Parke (Joyce); and sister Ruby Estes.

 

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, James Shelby Parke; sister, Marcella Love (Adrie); brother, Lloyd Boston (Frances); daughters, Jenene Bledsoe (Clark) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and Pattie Doyle (Ray) of Marietta, Georgia, four grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.

 

Because of Covid concerns, the burial services at Missionary Mound Cemetery in Edmonton, Kentucky, will be limited to the immediate family with a celebration of her life scheduled at a future date.

 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus Health of Green River or your favorite charity.
