Smiles were a’plenty and so was goodwill as the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County helped provide for local families this Christmas season!

“This was our 15th Annual Spirit of Giving Event. The purpose of the event is to serve youth in need during the holiday season,” said Mallie Boston, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County.

This season over 200 volunteers came out, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus, to serve a free hot breakfast, make Christmas crafts, and go on an extraordinary Walmart shopping trip.

The children also got to have their pictures taken with Santa.

“Through the generous support of our community members, local businesses, and churches, we were able to raise over $26,000 to serve 130 youth. We are so beyond humbled at the community’s continued support in making this event such a success,” Boston said.

She also offered a special thank you to Walmart for being amazing hosts of the shopping experience. The success of this event was evident in the faces of the children who participated.

The children smiled and the volunteers did too, on the 15th annual Day of Giving hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County. Lots of local children got to eat breakfast and do crafts with Santa before their Christmas shopping extravaganza.
