It’s getting cold outside, and to help keep the people of Metcalfe County warm Tareena Horton of Metcalfe County Farm Bureau has made the initiative to hold a month-long coat drive for those in need.
The coat drive is currently underway and will be until December 3.
“As a business owner in the community, I feel that it is my responsibility to give back,” said Horton.
In addition to coats, she is also accepting socks, gloves, hats, blankets, and scarves.
“I’ll take anything that helps keep people warm,” she said. Adult and children’s sizes are welcome.
Because of Covid, all donations must be new. Items can be taken to the Farm Bureau office on Stockton Street during regular business hours.
Once received, Horton will transport the items to Patty Bunch with the Metcalfe County school system, and from there Bunch will get the donated items to families in need.
