EDMONTON – Jimmy Wayne Garmon, age 72, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Metcalfe Health Care. Born June 11, 1949, in Glasgow, he was the son of the late James and Maxine (Hurt) Garmon.
He worked as maintenance in the trucking industry and was of the Baptist faith. Jimmy served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was stationed with a missile unit in Germany for eighteen months.
Survivors include one son, Jason Garmon, Glasgow; two brothers Ted (Janis) Garmon, Glasgow, and Jerry Mac Garmon, Edmonton; the mother of his son, Sandy Garmon; one aunt and uncle, Billy and Sue Hurt; nephews; and a great-niece.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday after 8:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00.
Memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery. Social distancing is encouraged and masks are preferred.
