At the regularly scheduled open meeting of the Metcalfe County Fiscal Court, August 24, when it came to other business, jailer Randal Shive spoke up.
“Did you check into my deputies pay raise?” Asked Shive.
Judge/Executive Harold Stilts said that he had not but he would.
“When do you think you will?” Shive asked.
“We will look into it,” Stilts replied. The court also said that salaries are set by May 1.
According to Shive, Rich Orenstein of KACo said the update to the deputy’s salary can be raised now, due to a stipulation concerning jailers without jails.
“Have him to email me some info on it,” said Stilts.
