Metcalfe County Schools is proud to announce Rachel Dial as the district’s new assistant director of athletics. Dial, who also serves as an assistant principal at Metcalfe County High School, will help grow the already successful Hornet sports program.
“I look forward to promoting and supporting the student-athletes, coaches, and staff of Metcalfe County Schools,” Dial said. “It is an honor to become an integral part of our community’s greatest source of pride, Hornet sports!”
Metcalfe County sports teams had a great season last year. The football, boys basketball, and girls basketball teams each won district tournaments. Several student-athletes also showed individual success.
Dial will work closely with Athletic Director Matt Shirley as the fall sports season gets underway. “I am excited to have Mrs. Dial as our district’s first assistant athletic director,” Shirley said. “She has a wide range of experience from coaching to administration, and I know she will do a fantastic job.”
Dial is a 1997 graduate of Metcalfe County High School, where she played basketball, softball, and ran cross country. She is one of 16 members of the Lady Hornets 1,000 Point Club.
