JOSEPH FRANCIS DAVIS, JR.
LEXINGTON – Joseph Francis Davis, Jr., age 80, passed away July 15, 2021, at UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Joe was born in Batavia, New York to the late Joseph and Evelyn Delbridge Davis.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Davis; his sons, Joseph (Penny) Davis III of Richmond, KY, John (Jenna) Davis of Vonore, TN, Timothy (Suzanne) Davis of Marseille, IL, and Jacob (Amber) Davis of Auburn, KY; his daughters, Cynthia (Joe) Long of Rio Dell, CA, and Jane Davis of Edmonton, KY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Becky, Kim, Austin, Matthew, Mark, Selah, Zachary, Abrahm, Sarah, Lydia, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Crystal, Rebekah, Cindy Shay, Gabrielle, Jessica, Shadrach, Matthias, and Olivia; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Davis of Batavia, NY, and Donald Davis of Wellsville, NY. He is survived by a brother, John Davis of Bonita Spring, FL, and two sisters, Dorothy Coene of Rochester, NY, and Elizabeth Spring of Lakeland, FL.
Joseph was a man of God and loved Christ dearly. He enjoyed attending church and was a member of Church on the Rock. Joseph had ministered to many over the years with the group, the Holy Ghost Crusaders. Joe had an appreciation and awe for antique cars, was a die-hard Elvis fan, and loved to dance.
Per Joseph’s wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Lakes Funeral Home.
