Metcalfe County Schools announced today that Jenny Stotts-Lundy will serve as the next principal of Metcalfe County Middle School. She takes over for Allen Trotter, who recently was named the district’s new director of pupil personnel.
Stotts-Lundy started her teaching career 21 years ago at Metcalfe County Elementary School, where she currently teaches kindergarten. She begins her new role on July 1.
“I’m excited about this new opportunity, and I look forward to serving the students and staff at Metcalfe County Middle School,” said Stotts-Lundy. “I will surely miss my kindergarten students at the elementary school, but I am honored to be chosen as the new principal of MCMS. I hope to build upon the successful groundwork laid by Mr. Trotter.”
Superintendent Josh Hurt said, “I am pleased and excited for Mrs. Stotts-Lundy to be joining the middle school as the new principal. Her classroom experience and work ethic will serve her well. We had a good number of excellent candidates, and I am pleased with the work of our school-based decision making council through this process. I look forward to the future of MCMS under Mrs. Stotts-Lundy’s leadership.”
Stotts-Lundy is married to Greg Lundy, a regional administrator for the Department of Juvenile Justice. They have two sons, Kel Stotts and Byron Kirkland Lundy.
