GLENDA KAY McCOY GEARLDS
TOMPKINSVILLE – Glenda Kay McCoy Gearlds, 69, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, at The Medical Center. Born February 12, 1952, in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Pernie Kingrey McCoy. On August 28, 1972, she married Jackie Ben Gearlds, who survives. Kay worked for Drs. Ross and Birge for 18 years and was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors besides her husband, include one daughter, Melinda (David) Page, Summer Shade; one son, Kevin (Kellie) Gearlds, Glasgow; two brothers, Charles (Linda) McCoy, Louisville, and Mike (Irene) McCoy, Glasgow; eight grandchildren, Jackson and Jordan Page, Kyn’lee Swartz, Kylie Brown, Karoline, Katie, Karson, and Katherine Gearlds.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Randall McCoy.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 22, 2021, 1:00 P.M, at the Oak Hill Church of Christ, with Lewis Blythe officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. A walk through visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2021, 1:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Monday, March 22, 2021, after 10:00 A.M. at the Oak Hill Church of Christ until time of services at 1:00.
