EDMONTON – Lloyd Wallingford Hafling Jr., 78, fondly known by his loving family and friends as Sonny, embraced his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 25, 2021.
Born July 4, 1942, of the late Lloyd Sr. and Pauline Elizabeth VanNatta Hafling of Louisville, Kentucky, Sonny deeply loved his faith and family. He proudly served at Hiseville Christian Church as an Elder and teacher. Sonny had an extensive career as a pressman and manager in rotogravure printing. After retiring to Metcalfe County, Kentucky he enjoyed working for the school system as a school bus driver. His free time was filled with enjoyment of the outdoors and studying the Bible. Sonny was well known for his quick witted humor, big smile, and infectious laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judye Faye Anderson Hafling and two children, Sondra Faye Hafling Carmen and husband Michael Lee Carmen of Cookeville, Tennessee and Anthony Scott Hafling and wife Lorie Marie Casey Hafling of Louisville; two grandchildren, Logan Scott Hafling of Lexington, and Lindsey Marie Hafling of Louisville. He is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended loving family.
The family has chosen cremation and a celebration of life which will be scheduled later in the year. Memorial contributions may be sent to White Mills Christian Camp, P.O. Box 129, White Mills, Kentucky 42788.
