The 2020 Relay for Life celebration theme was “Hope Will Never Be Canceled.” A very fitting statement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The June 26th events were held on the historic courthouse lawn instead of the school gym this year.
HOPE – This sign in the courthouse yard says it all. The letters were installed by Wes Jolly who also donated gift cards to each survivor in memory of his late wife, Kim Jolly.
Children handed out packets containing tee shirts and gift cards, balloons, plaques, and a lantern to each survivor. A parade around the square was also held to celebrate while following distancing regulations and wearing masks. Luminaries were lined up around the square on the sidewalk.
