WILMA JEAN FIRKINS
EDMONTON – Wilma Jean Firkins, age 72, passed away suddenly at her home June 28, 2020. Born in Adair County she was the daughter of the late Venus and Geneva Roach Compton. Wilma was retired from Carhartt Industries after 32 years of service and was a member of the Red Lick United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Firkins; two children, Sandy (Gary) Coffey of Columbia, and Chris Jessee of Breeding; one stepdaughter, Chasity Firkins; two sisters, Diane Levine of Webster, Kentucky and Dolly Riley of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Robert Smith, Olivia Jessee, Emma Jessee, April Coffey, John Coffey, Brandon Emmitt, and Josh Firkins; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Jessee, her twin sister, Ima Jessee, and a brother, Wayne Compton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
