What is better on a cold fall day than a bowl of soup? Apparently, most people agree because the annual Metcalfe 4-H soup fundraiser was held on Friday with a good response.
The ladies and gentlemen were working hard at the Metcalfe County Extension Office getting everything ready to serve to walk-in customers plus filling the many delivery orders that were called in. Many volunteered to make soups, chili, cornbread, cakes, and brownies for the luncheon. Other volunteers did deliveries.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” stated Amy Branstetter, Agent for 4-H Youth Development.
The proceeds go toward 4-H events held throughout the year such as 4-H camp, teen conference, and the teen summit.
