Fat spill causes a potential environmental hazard

Friday evening an animal fat spill at the entry/exit road of Ag Renew on Hwy 68 near Ma’s Deli had officials, including those from the EPA and State Emergency Disaster at attention, to clean up the mess.
Ag Renew, a rendering plant that turns animal waste into usable components for products such as dog food, lipstick, and other makeup, has been a source of controversy among citizens of Metcalfe County since it located here.
