Staying Strong for Steven

So many people are to thank for making the benefit so successful. It really showed the community is fully backs those in need.
Townsfolk packed in the high school gymnasium on Feb. 9 to be part of a great cause, for one of their own. Staying Strong for Steven was a huge success. It took a combined effort by many locals, with the end result being a fellowship of love for the Lindsey’s.
Earlier this year, Steven was involved in a vehicle accident. It took place while he was on his way to take his two-year-old daughter to daycare and then to work. Air Evac flew him to Vanderbilt, and Leona was taken by ambulance to the Medical Center. She had several cuts and bruises, but overall her injuries were minor.
It didn’t take long for friends, family, and strangers to be touched by the story. They wanted to help with offsetting costs associated with Steven’s recovery. The family of five (husband, wife, and three kids) have a long road ahead of them. Steven has several doctor’s visits and appointments to make. With that comes a sizable cost.
The benefit encompassed numerous things; over 150 items donated for a silent auction, local entertainment, and a nice meal. One hundred percent of the proceeds go back to helping the Lindsey family. For more information on how to help, contact the Butler County High School by phone at 270-526-2204.
