DECA stands for Defense and Economic Cooperation Agreement. DECA membership is available to students with career interests in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, and management in grades nine through twelve. The organization’s mission statement is DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
Edmonson County High school students who are members of DECA went to Regional DECA competition on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Western Kentucky University. The group of students came home with 5 first place trophies, 27-second place trophies, 8 third place trophies, and 20 medals for fourth and fifth place. The students will attend the state competition in March. Sponsors for the DECA club are Teresa McClintic and Nikki Culbreth.
