Girl Scout food drive
Girl Scout Troop #313 has done it again. The girls had their annual food drive this year and were able to donate thousands of dollars’ worth of nonperishable food items to Edmonson County’s Family Resource Center to help supplement the backpack program. Per one representative of the FRC, around 130 students benefit from the backpack program this year.
Holidays are typically a festive time, with breaks from the routine, meals with loved ones, maybe even some gifts. But for many families across the U.S., the season comes with intense stress: roughly one in five families with children are not getting enough food.
The food from this drive helps to ensure that no child will go hungry over the Christmas break. The troop would like to say thank you to everyone who donated and supported this cause.
