Fisherman and the wife

Morgantown Elementary School students received quite a treat on October 16.  Western Kentucky University students paid a visit to the school for a production of “The Fisherman and his Wife”.  The play was for Pre K through second grade.  The campaign involves college students touring area schools from Oct. 16 through Nov. 29.  In the tale, the fisherman catches an enchanted fish and uses the three wishes to bring happiness to his wife.  The production utilizes the audience participation by use of sound effects, scenery, and walk-on parts.  It combines action, comedy, and life lessons for all.  

After watching the play, the school’s are given study guides about the story.  This adds to elevated form of learning for students.  For more information on the touring production, visit www.wku.edu.
