Sunday afternoon the community had a chance to come out and see Metcalfe County’s new Government Center, and those who will be working there.
The facility now houses the Sheriff’s Department, Fiscal Court, the County Judge/ Executive’s office, Emergency Management, the PVA office, and Fiscal Court.
Beginning in January it will also house the County Clerk’s office, as well as a searchable, records room.
Construction started last year and was completed last month.
Sheriff Rondal Shirley and his daughters, Alma, Ilania and Maria, welcomed guests. Shirley is retiring this year after many years of service to the community.
Emergency Management Director Emory Kidd welcomed guests.
