Smart Moves grant

The Butler County Boys and Girls Club met during the regular session on Sept. 19.  This was the first official meeting for new Executive Director Amanda White.

The organization, located in Morgantown, will be receiving a large amount of funding from the Smart Moves grant.  It is an alcohol and drug prevention program through the Kentucky Alliance.  It helps to drive positive outcomes for youth in healthy lifestyles by exposing them to activities, which hone in on critical thinking and decision-making skills.  The program is for grades 1-5.

In other business:

The annual reception will be a lunch this year.  The big event will be Oct. 25 at the Eva J. Hawes Building at 11:30 a.m.  There is still time to be a sponsor for the gathering.  Donation levels are $250, $500, and $1,000.

Alan Brostoff will be joining the meeting next month to go over KPI scores.
