MARK ELTON RUSH
SUMMER SHADE – Mark Elton Rush passed in comfort on September 18, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born July 26, 1962, and he left Kentucky when he was eighteen and served his country for the next twenty years, earning the rank of tech sergeant in the United States Air Force.
He saw the world, serving in Texas, Alaska, Washington, Virginia, and abroad in England, and Ireland. He retired in two thousand and went on to have a marvelous career working with an organization that also had the best interest of national security in the heart and soul of their operations. He always dreamt of retiring to his childhood home in Kentucky and living the rest of his life happily surrounded by the people he cared about most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Page Rush; his son, Cody Rush; his step-daughter, Brittany (Joe) Guttenson; his grandchildren: Kyia and Joey “Buster” Guttenson; and his stepmother Ella Rush.
He is preceded in death by his father, Talmadge “Tab” Rush; his mother, Mable Juanita Yates; and his big brother, Dan Scuinney.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Summer Shade volunteer fire and rescue squad.
