Raiders make selves known in state

The Hart County soccer team is still on a roll, after playing Tuesday night at Campbellsville for their first district matchup of the season.

The team came prepared, and Brayden Bell opened play with the first goal within six minutes of the start. Several players joined in for the win. Cameron Tennyson led the way with four goals and one assist. Bell finished with two goals and two assists. Along with Carter Shelton’s two goals and two assists, Kyler Goostree added two goals, and Nayt Smith added one for the win. They finished off their oppoenent for an 11-1 district win.

Starting strong at 6-1, Hart County sits among the top team scoring leaders in the state. They are currently ranked third with 44 goals in seven games, with an average of 6.3 per game. Brayden Bell sits at 16 on the leading individual socing leaders with 14 goals and six assists, averaging 4.9 a game. Cameron Tennyson also sits in the top 30 at 26, with 12 goals and six assists to his name.

The victory lap came to an end, however on Thursday night at home against Ohio County. The team knew that a great challenge was before them, and they were right. Starting out Ohio County had four goals while the Raiders searched for answers.

Bell was able to score first for Hart County, and Hart began to put their game together. It would be too little though to stop Ohio County who broke down the defense and score three more to end the first half up 7-1. Despite a pick up of momentum for the Raiders in the second, Ohio continued to score, and stopped all efforts from Hart, to take the win 9-1.

After traveling to Clinton County on Monday night, September 10, Hart looks on to a busy week with four games on the lineup.
