Music at the Mural

The peaks, beats, and melodies of songs and instrumentals create a spark in everyone.  No matter who you are, music in a way, makes the world go round.  It offsets the ebbs and flows of daily living.

Music at the Mural is held in downtown Morgantown on a monthly basis. Individuals join in unison to celebrate the poetry and magic of music.  This month’s event was especially important, due to the fact of implementing a greater purpose, helping raise money for the Backpack Program (feeding area kids).

On Aug. 3, the Music at the Mural had a free back-to-school prize giveaway, raffle tickets sold for donated goods, and vendors set up offering the public an opportunity to try new foods.  The majority of proceeds from the evening went to help the kids.

It takes over an estimated $100 to feed each child during the school year.  This worthwhile program assists families who may not otherwise have the funds to provide a balanced meal to their kids.

The final Music at the Mural for the season is scheduled for Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.  Lady Bugs Fritter and Fries will be the food truck on site for the evening.  For more information on the series, visit https://www.facebook.com/musicatthemural/.
