ALEXANDRIA, IN – Lewis E. Garmon Sr., age 84, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, in his residence surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
He was born on February 11, 1934, in Edmonton, Kentucky to Sherman and Lillian (Wilson) Garmon and had lived in the Alexandria area for most of his lifetime. Lewis retired from Fisher-Body, formerly of Marion in 1996 after 30 years of employment. He was a skilled woodworker and built 2 houses, including the one that he resided in. He enjoyed life and living and was known to help anyone at any time if he was able.
Survivors include a son, Lewis (Amber) Garmon Jr. of Alexandria, IN; four granddaughters: Caelyn Reese, Alexus (Mike) Willhoite, Porsche (Matt) Carver, and Sierra Haulk; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leon Garmon and Albert Garmon, and a sister-Sylvia Stevens.
