4-H Shooting Sports members win state

Hart County 4-H member Jasper Shrader is a member of the 2017 4-H Shotgun Division State Championship Team. Jasper along with other Zackary Glass, Austin Miller, Tristen Miles and Brennan Thomspon-Ross won the state team competition on September 10 in Berea, Kentucky.

The Hart 4-H Shooting Sports teams competed in the 2017 State 4-H Shooting Sports Competition on Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10 in Wilmore and Berea, Kentucky. Over 800 4-H members from across the state participated in the two day event.

Twenty-three Hart County 4-H members participated in the state competition. The Hart County 4-H 12 -14 Year Old Team placed 1st in the state in the Shotgun Division. Austin Miller was also the top individual in the 12-14 Year Old Shotgun Division.

The Hart County 4-H 12-14 Year Old Team that won the state competition included the following 4-H members: Zachary Glass, Tristen Miles, Austin Miller, Brennan Thompson-Ross and Jasper Shrader.

Several students also placed individually at the state competition. They include: Keaton Walters was the 3rd Place individual in the 9-11 yr. old Shotgun Division, Konner Walters was the 5th Place individual in the 9-11 yr. old Shotgun Division, Zachary Glass was the 5th Place individual in the 12-14 yr. old Shotgun Division, Amber Avery 12th Place in 12-14 yr. old Recurve Archery Division, Brennan Thompson-Ross, 13th Place individual in the 12-14 yr. old Shotgun Division, Ben Scott 14th Place individual in the 9-11 yr. old Shotgun Division, Julie Payne 14th Place in the 9-11 yr. old Compound Bare Archery Division and Jasper Shrader15th Place individual in the 12-14 yr. old Shotgun Division.

All of the Hart County 4-H Shooting Sports members did an awesome job at the State 4-H Shooting Sports Competition! Congratulations to all participants for placing well at the state contest: Amber Avery, Jared Avery, Sam Choate, Matthew England, Zachary Glass, Dawson Horton, Eli Matthews, Caleb Matthews, Treavor Meador, Trace Meador, Tucker Miles, Tristen Miles, Austin Miller, Julie Payne, Lynda Ratliff, Brennan Ross, Jasper Shrader, Ben Scott, Connor Thompson, Justin Trowbridge, Keaton Walters, Konner Walters and Hannah Williamson

A special thanks to the Hart County 4-H Shooting Sports Coaches and Certified Instructors for all of their help and hard work this year: Melinda England, Lee Miles, Jonathan Horton, Tabitha Horton, Maria Miles, William Scott, Ashley Walters and many other parents.

Austin Miller, Hart County 4-H member placed 1st in the 2017 State 4-H Shooting Sports Competition for the 12-14 Year Old Shotgun Division. Over 800 4-H members across the state of Kentucky participated in the two day event held in Berea.
