Leon Bradley Tharp, 86, of Munfordville

Munfordville – Leon Bradley Tharp, 86, Munfordville passed away at 9:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2017 at NHC in Glasgow.

He was born on August 17, 1930 to the late Bradley Otto Tharp and Erman Talley Tharp.  He was married to the former Norma Jean Billingsley, who preceded him in death in February of 2005.  He owned and operated Leon’s Grocery and most recently Raider’s Inn, he was also a former bus driver with the Hart County School System.   He was a member of the Munfordville Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Vestal Tharp and a sister, Beatrice Branstetter.

He is survived by one son, Barry Tharp and wife Jane Ann, Munfordville; two daughters, Marla Estes and husband Steve, Bowling Green and Stacey Nichols and husband Mike, Munfordville; six grandchildren, Amber Thieneman, Shanna Estes, Nathan Estes, Forrest Nichols, Stuart Nichols and Olivia Nichols and one great-grandson, Elliott Thieneman.

Funeral services were held 11:00 am Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Munfordville Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Steele officiating.  Burial was in the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons, in memory of Leon Tharp.
